Design a unique, type-centric playing card deck by selecting a serif or sans-serif typeface that sets the tone for your design. Focus on typography as the primary visual element, creating a cohesive set that includes a card back, Joker, Ace, King, and four additional cards of your choice. Stick to a clean color palette of two colors plus black and white, ensuring bold and impactful visuals. Designed to a standard size of 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches, this project highlights your ability to blend creativity and type design seamlessly.

The Why

I wanted to use a rough font and organic feel to the deck of cards that I made. I wanted them to feel and look like something I’d like to have on my coffee table. Growing up playing cards, I always heard the phrase “Hey! No Peeking!” So, I incorporated it into the card deck, with visuals on the deck and box, revolving around having eyes constantly on you or your opponent’s cards.
